Personality: |
Rahne is a soft-hearted, naive and caring individual at heart. She comes off as shy at first, but once she gets to know another she opens right up. Rahne believes that, essentially, all people are good until proven otherwise. Rahne's relationship with her father ended a long time ago, but she has yet to find her mother. She hopes that one day their paths will meet. Yet she does not know that rev. Craig isn't her real bather. When Rahne gets pushed too far and her temper is unleashed, she is a sharp-tongued little lady and not someone you would want to trifle with. When angry, Rahne also usually loses control over her transformation powers and often changes into her partial or full wolf form. While in partial or full lupine form, Rahne is more feral and she only worries about the most basic of needs - she seems to think that life is easier this way, sometimes. She is still herself deep down, but it's not always easy to see...
Goals: |
To learn how to keep her powers completely under control, as she currently struggles with her partial form and full-lupine form. Her emotions sometimes get the best of Rahne, causing her to shift form without meaning to and being unable to change back to human form until she has calmed down. She wants to prove herself to Professor Xavier that she can be in control of her powers whenever she wants to be. Finding her mother and real father, when she learns the truth about Rev. Craig Never seeing her foster-father again. |

Special Abilities
Advantages: |
LIGHT SLEEPER - When Rahne is asleep or trying to go to sleep, the slightest of noises can wake her. NOBILITY - Rahne will never let anything bad happen to anyone, and begrudges even hurting her enemies. This higher class of character is often reflected in her appearance or manner of speech. HEROIC - There is just something very imposing or impressive about Wolfsbane that makes her surpass the ordinary; whether, it is showing extreme courage or bravery, or saving someone's life. This even extends to not killing an enemy unless ABSOLUTELY necessary COMBAT REFLEXES - Wolfsbane can react to threats almost instantly, meaning that she is very difficult to surprise and is extremely effective in close-range hand-to-hand combat. SHAPE SHIFTING AWARENESS - Wolfsbane has a natural affinity for detecting others, even when the one being observed has changed to look like something else. When first encountering someone, her mind naturally 'pings' via her scent whomever to confirm that the shape they are wearing is indeed their own.
Power(s): |
ANIMAL TRANSFORMATION (Self): Rahne can alter her appearance, form, and dimensions to that of a wolf (including full transformation, or partial). Her body takes on all the properties of the creature she has turned into - for example: razor edged canines and claws, reversed knee joints, thick brown fur, and an elongated snout. She also gains enhanced senses and bestial instincts while in full or partial lupine form. Her strength and agility also increase along with her speed, to superhuman levels. NOTE - While in full wolf form, Rahne has given in to her baser instincts and she cannot truly communicate with anyone, save Jean Grey (AKA Psyche), as Jean has the rare telepathic ability to communicate with animals. ENHANCED SENSES - Interestingly enough, even when in human form, Rahne still has the ability to pick up on things a normal human can't. Her awareness of the world remains heightened, even though the physical strengths of her hybrid form are gone. HEALING FACTOR - Wolfsbane has an accelerated (mild) healing factor tied to her transformative powers. She can heal as fast as five times the rate of a baseline human.
Skill(s): |
ADMINISTRATION Rahne's gotten quite good at keeping things organized and coordinated, keeping track of the various aspects of an organization and making sure none goes neglected, and keeping things documented in case the need arises to go back and check over something. OBSERVATION - A general ability to tell when something is interesting or out of place. SURVIVAL - Dealing with the rigors of outdoor life is made easier when she is in full lupine form. INTIMIDATION - Terrifying someone into doing or saying what she wants. RESIST DOMINATION - Can reduce the difficulty to avoid or resist mental attacks by one level. TRACKING - Following prey through any environs. Wolfsbane may pick up a trail with her enhanced senses.
Disadvantages: |
ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP - Rahne was in a very abusive relationship with Rev. Craig until she ran away. She was on her own until the X-Men found her and brought her to the United States. CHIVALROUS - Rahne must right any wrongs she witnesses, correct social injustice, keep any oaths of loyalty she swears, and honor all deals and obligations she accepts. Rahne must honor good people. This disadvantage can even include a vow of poverty. LOVE (Lost) - Rahne is a born romantic, and easily falls for a pretty face. As such she is also easily manipulated by a pretty face. MORAL CODE - No matter what, Rahne will not kill or more importantly, allow someone else to kill or be killed by their actions or lack thereof regardless of the situation or mitigating circumstances. Likewise, and to a lesser degree, she will not permit others to be harmed. Saving lives takes precedence over all, even over catching the bad guys. Needless to say there are times when this code causes problems. MORTAL - When it comes down to the nitty gritty, Rahne is human. Regardless of any armor she might wear, weapon she might carry or even performance enhancing drugs she might take, she is only human. Her body is as susceptible to pain, injury and disease as that of the next person. NAIVE - From the French Naivete: Rahne lacks a certain amount of experience and understanding when dealing with the day-to-day nuances of everyday life and events. As such she is given to feeling confused and/or frustrated during times of crisis which may cause her to over-react in an erratic, rash or violent manner. Additionally her lack of sophistication may cause her to fall victim to the manipulations of others due to a lack of knowledge or understanding of certain customs, or by a pretty face. UNCONTROLLABLE POWER - During times of extreme stress, Rahne's powers go wild and she cannot shift back to human form. |

History
Rahne (pronounced "Rah-nei") is born an unknown place, but as a newborn was brought to the small town of Kinross in Scotland.
She was raised in a monastery some miles to the south by nuns with frequent visits from whom she believed to be his loving and somewhat devoted father: Reverent Craig. She was raised to be a servant to religion, and her father would preach how fierce God could be, were you ever to misstep the rules and laws of the bible.
When she turned 12 her father decided to take her home, where she was to help him with the everyday life. She was a happy child in the first months until he started visiting her room in the nights. He said it was one of the few ways he could show her how much he cared about her. After that Rahne was never the same cheerful and helping young teenager, but she never told anyone about what happened when her father would visit her in her bedroom. It was not to be spoken of but was not the normal love a father would show her daughter.
Rahne had never asked questions about the past, but now she started developing the need to know who her mother was. Craig said that her mother had been a prostitute in one of the larger towns that didn't want anything to do with her, and therefore had left baby Rahne on his doorstep one night when she was just hours old. So he made it very clear that her mother had never wanted to know anything about her daughter's existence.
The girl started hating her life and about everything about it. She started falling behind in school, and everything she did never seemed to be sufficient to anyone.
The few friends she had started avoiding her, and before she turned 14 she was a girl that was barely making passable grades, had no friends and a father who had been sexually abusing her for years. One night Rahne had enough: She felt such an urge to get away from it all, and wanted to take her own life. Her father prevented it by repeatedly beating her with a shoehorn whilst he shouted how much God now hated her. This was the first time Rahne stood up for herself: She told him that she knew how wrong it was what he did to her throughout all those years and how she wanted all the pain and isolation she felt, to end. Her father lost his mind, and started beating Rahne senselessly, while Rahne was too scared to fight back. She cried for help, but no one heard her heartbroken cries.
Rahne would not let herself be broken. She was fixed on the point that she would rather die of a beating than of the shame she felt when he would visit her at nights. She felt anger, an anger that started calming her fears and channeled them into hatred. And the next time her father would stop to catch his breath, Rahne, with a broken arm, and blood everywhere, got up and ran out the house with her dad pursuing her.
The hatred she felt started manifesting as a calm sort of anger. And she felt herself changing. She felt the pain disappear from her wounds as she ran down the dark vacant dirt road they lived on by themselves.
Suddenly her mind snapped, and she felt her mind focusing on fighting the monster she had spent her entire life with. She heard herself growl and she slowed down and turn around towards the monster behind her. She howled, which wasn’t any reaction she had experienced before. It didn’t scare her. It was a comfort to her. Her adrenaline pumped as she started walking back towards her father, who stopped and stared when he saw her. She didn’t wait for a response, it wasn’t needed. She knew what she had to do: She had to protect herself and before she could see the fear in his eyes she struck at him with the claws she just now had discovered, that had grown from her hands. They were predator-claws. She struck him, it ripped up his shirt, and it revealed blood.
She heard him mumbling something in Latin: "Demon from hell, spare me" he whimpered. She saw no option for mercy. Mercy was for innocents, her primitive mind told her. She felt the sharp teeth in her mouth against her soft delicate tongue. And with her head, she went straight for his throat. She bit him as hard as she could. Not letting go as he tried pushing her off of himself. Then he fell to the ground lifelessly, and Rahne knew he was close to death. It was enough for her. Slowly she found out that her new features were similar to a wolf's.
She became confused and scared and didn't know what to do. She went home, hearing the ambulance, picking up her father, not knowing whether he was dead or alive. She didn’t care. In her scared and confused state of mind, she packed a bag with clothes and a few cans of food, and left what had been her home. She slept deep in the forest that night a few hours of walk from her town. The next morning, she woke up in her normal state, but never wanted to go back.
She wandered the streets of Edinburgh for a few weeks, not seeking medical help, living off what she could find here and there, but even though she was dirty and almost always hungry. It didn't matter, because she felt free.
She started hearing the news of what had happened back home, and the news explained that a wolf had attacked the reverend of a small city, and the wolf had chased off his daughter, or pursued her into the woods. They were now looking for her, but expecting her to be dead. The reverend was in a coma.
Rahne started considering her options and decided it would be the right thing to, to report what she had done and explain the truth as she had experienced it.
She never made it that far. She met a man named Charles Xavier that offered to help her with what she was going though. Not wanting to go to prison for her crimes, she accepted the kind mans offer and went with him to the United States.
Here she was given a home, and with the help of a psychiatrist and a mental coach, she came to terms with how all she had done was justified, and Xavier helped clear her name and got her settled back into society. To this day she hasn't spoken to her father since the night her powers manifested, nor does she want to.
Rahne wants to live out her life with no more forced entries of any kind in her life, but then again, now she knows how to defend herself!
