Wendell is one of those lucky individuals who looks good even if an old shirt and jeans. A handsome young man of boyish quality, Wendell has an athletic body and frame after years of sports and now also training. His hair is dark black and his eyes a blue-gray. He still seems to be growing but isn't expected to get much taller.

Never a clothes hound and impossible to be called vain, Wendell prefers t-shirts, jeans and flip flops whenever he can get away with it. If the weather is warm enough, shorts are a must. None of his clothes could be considered designer, even if they are of a label they're a more common A&F or Hollister and probably a year or so old. A white t-shirt and a pair of Levis is just fine.

While many might associate Wendell with hard work and a care free attitude, he is clearly more than that. He is modest, polite (even to his enemies up to a point), noble and selfless. His religious beliefs seems to only be that all life is precious. He refers to others as Sir and Ma'am.

Yet, he indeed has a care free, positive attitude. Known as a free spirit, Wendell is relaxed and upbeat even in the face of adversary. He goes with the flow, letting foul words roll off his back and offering second chances when possible. He has been noted by SHIELD as lacking a killer instinct, though it is likely what allowed him to properly use the Quantum Bands. Wendell thinks of himself as living music, his actions and words conveying his feelings (whether this is true or not) because he is convinced he can hear the music of the spheres and moves in harmony with them.

On a more personal level, Wendell does have a slight inferiority complex with the understanding there is nothing special about him save for the bands he wears. He likes to have a good time but has a severe issue with those that negatively impact others and especially if they hurt others. There are a few other aspects of his life that he knows some think are a big deal, but he does not.

Wendell is by nature an easy going and resourceful young man. He is slow to anger, and truly believes in heroic ideas. He frowns upon the use of excessive force and has a strong reverence for the law, but he is well aware that laws applied without reason or compassion are worthless.

QUASAR'S Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

Quasar knows he has powerful abilities at his disposal that offer diverse means of approach to his enemies. He prefers not to focus on destroying his opponent but incapacitation.

Contain: Q encounters someone who looks menacing. Immediate reaction: whip up a containment vessel around him to prevent further danger.

Drain: If it appears this menace has energy-based powers, Q taps those powers and drains them off. The length of time this takes depends on the extent of the menace's power. He cannot do this to persons whose energies are outside the electromagnetic spectrum.

Attack: Clobber the guy with a quantum-construct, be it a personal weapon or a big something like a giant hammer or anvil.

Wendell only really has two major goals presently. One is to learn more about the bands he now wears. The other is to use the bands to protect, though what he isn't sure. Part of him feels he's supposed to protect everything and everyone.

APPROACHABLE - A combination of looks, attitude and general charisma make Wendell non-threatening and approachable. He finds it easy to walk into a conversation and many feel comfortable confiding in him. Those who are stressed or upset find his presence comforting.

ATTRACTIVE - Wendell's always been somewhere between cute and handsome. A great physique, long dark locks and gray-blue eyes made him the All American Boy many would expect. The fact that he's a relaxed, good natured and hard working sweetheart hasn't hurt him either. He falls into the category of looks good wet, scruffy or dirty; his appearance always seems to add to his charm.

CON-GOER - Wendell has long pushed himself to succeed, struggling to prove himself especially when it matters most. He has taken risks before to protect others. When it comes to it, his desire to succeed, especially to protect others, gives him an ability to go far beyond his current capabilities.

FREE SPIRIT - While perhaps an ethereal or abstract advantage, Wendell has benefited from what many call him: a free spirit. He "goes with the flow" and maintains a positive, relaxed manner. It's this free spirit that saved him from destruction when he donned the quantum bands. "A tree that does not bend breaks in a thunderstorm," he's fond of saying.

QUICK LEARNER - Wendell has always been a quick learner. While he doesn't have the highest aptitude, he is driven and positive about his endeavors. Some of this is book knowledge but some is practical. While something like programming an operating system couldn't be quickly shown, Wendell quickly learned how to put a PC together.

TECHNICAL APTITUDE - Wendell loves machines, enjoying learning and playing with machines of all types. While not a scientist, he enjoys tinkering with all sorts of technology to find out how it works and to make it work best for him. When he was young he broke his father's laptop a couple times but the next time, he made it faster.

ENERGY CONTROL - Quasar can affect, alter, absorb, channel or fire any form of energy found in the electromagnetic spectrum from Gamma Rays to Radio Waves as testing within SHIELD and STARK Industries has found. This includes visible light but not that listed below in disadvantages. The energy output of the bands generally appears to be yellow in color, but since the bands have mastery of the entire EM spectrum, presumably a wielder could change the color of the energy at will. It is unknown why the energy seems to default to the yellow area of the visible band.

Energy Manipulation - Quasar can change any energy being used in his presence, raising or lowering its intensity, or redirecting it at its source or some other target. If this energy is being generated or controlled by another living being, it becomes a contest of wills. The bands ability to absorb and control energy is so great that most other energy manipulators cannot come close to overwhelming the bands. Only truly powerful energy manipulators (Silver Surfer, Thanos, or Galactus, etc.) are capable of such a feat. This often allows Quasar to focus on defensive measures rather than offensive.

Energy Emission - Wendell can fire blasts of electromagnetic energy out to a few hundred feet, which causes severe damage to electronics. It can render a person stunned, drive them to the ground or knock them through the air. While severe beams of force or heat are possible, thus far Quasar has opted not to try such life-threatening attacks. Magnetic abilities are disrupted by this blast.

Energy Constructs - Wendell can transform energy into a matrix that simulates solid matter with a brilliant yellow-white glow. He can create almost anything he can conceive of subject to his will and imagination with varying density. The more he understands about an object the closer it comes to functioning as a real object would. These objects dissipate if his concentration is lost. Wendell uses this power to create force fields.

FLIGHT - Wendell can fly by denying the effects of gravitation through the manipulation of electromagnetic energy to alter gravitons. It is possible he can fly at speeds approaching light or beyond, but he has yet to push himself past super sonic. The first time he flew he got lost as he wasn't sure over which great lake he was over anymore. It was the Atlantic ocean, which he discovered as he floated upward.

LIFE SUPPORT - The Quantum Bands in addition to taking over his nervous system have also affected the rest of his body including the circulatory, skeletal, muscle and respiration systems. They literally make him better, stronger, faster. While he wears the bands he is functionally immortal, able to survive without oxygen, in the void of space, or the deepest depths of the ocean. The upper limit to his physical augmentations are unknown.

MENTAL RESISTANCE - Because Wendell is permanently linked to the Quantum band his nervous system and brain are protected from most mental manipulations. While the bands have no control over the mind or psionics, powerful psychic individuals haven't been able to overcome the protection it appears to grant. The true reasoning of this resistance is unknown.

ATHLETICS - Wendell has never been the MVP, but he's been a strong team member in nearly every sport he's played. A very athletic young man, Wendell plays baseball, basketball, football, lacrosse, and tennis while also being on the track and swim teams. He's never complained about being the star athlete, but he pushes himself and keeps trying.

COMBAT STYLE (Mixed Martial Arts) - Wendell has been training in various martial arts. In part he wishes to have a style all his own, but also he finds interest in varied forms of martial arts. Finally, he feels being able to adapt is a positive aspect and helps him incapacitate those striking him with whatever martial arts forms when he needs to act on the defensive.

ENGINEERING - Wendell has long shown an interest in the engineering field, primarily computer, electronic and mechanical engineering. While he's hardly even an expert in any, he understands what many college students are learning though he doesn't have much advanced experience. This knowledge is partly practical from working with his father.

ESPIONAGE - In what has become perhaps a perversion of his approachable nature, Wendell has begun receiving training from SHIELD in the art of espionage. From shadowing by hiding or blending into a crowd, gathering intelligence, or infiltrating groups or organizations, Wendell is learning the ways of a spy. Wendell approves of these non-violent skills over say those of a sniper or strike team member.

WATER RELATED SKILLS - Wendell is a beach boy. He loves swimming, surfing and would be perfectly content spending an entire day at the beach if he could. It's no surprise his chill nature and "go with the flow" attitude are echoed by many beach bums and surfer types. Snorkeling is one of his favorite past times as well. He's worked as a life guard and is on the swim team.

DANGER MAGNET - Whether directly or indirectly Wendell seems to attract trouble. This might be a consequence of the bracelets he wears as their original purpose is only a matter of conjecture. Others find he has a tendency to walk into trouble, his relaxed nature making him less aware of tension in the air.

DISCOUNTED - Wendell's youthful appearance and easy going nature often lead people to discount him. He's been called too young, too inexperienced, and too carefree even in the last year. Some believe he doesn't take things seriously enough.

EVERYMAN - Wendell is well aware that the only thing special about him, so he believes, are the quantum bands. The thing that literally makes him the best candidate to wear them also gives him a complex of inferiority that some might use to demean his confidence.

MORAL CODE - While it may be a disadvantage in options in combat, Quasar does not see his moral code as a weakness. He will not kill, in fact preferring not even to harm. While he knows sometimes you have to knock people around, he prefers to contain, drain and render unconscious. This very behavior likely saved his life and made him the right person for the Quantum Bands.

QUANTUM BAND LIMITATIONS - The Quantum Bands are not items beyond all powers. They have a number of limitations.

Worthiness - Similar to the hammer of Thor, a bearer of the Quantum-Bands must to be worthy. As the Quantum-Bands are tied to the station of the Protector of the Universe, the bands seem to require a calm mind lacking ‘killer instinct’ to learn to use them to their fullest potential. A bearer with the intent to commit acts of depravity and destruction will quickly find himself losing control of the energy output of the bands until they disintegrate him.

Extradimensional energy - Quasar is susceptible to all persons using Darkforce. His bands cannot create constructs to hold or resist darkforce energy. The Darkforce penetrates his energy like it wasn't even there.

Magic - The Bands cannot absorb it or resist magical energy. However, an enchanted physical object will only be as strong as the object itself would otherwise be. Therefore, Mjolnir will simply not shatter Quasar's forcefield like glass. Magic users can not affect the energy output of Quasar, so it evens out.

Matter Manipulation - The Quantum Bands cannot affect the powers of matter manipulation possessed by some including The Molecule Man, Sersi, Phoenix, Her, and the Silver Surfer, among others. However their energy sources, like the cosmic energy used to power their matter manipulation abilities, could be. Therefore a bearer could affect the energy source, but not the ability itself.

Psionic Energy - While psionic/mental tampering can not affect an Energy Construct as they do not have a mind, a psionic blast will easily destroy a construct. Quasar believes constructive energy born of thought is nullified by destructive energy born of thought.

Wendell's battle uniform is black leather and kevlar. The top is a short-sleeved shirt, leaving some of his arms exposed but also the Quantum Bands. The sides of the chest piece as well as part of the shoulders are a deep red. An emblem is visible on the chest piece that is a yellow pointed cross with a circle around the intersection. Wendell has said it is what a quantum flare looks like at the initial creation of a quasar.

QUANTUM BANDS - Quasar's powers are derived from the pair of Quantum Bands fused to his wrists. They are permanently affixed to his wrists. He can make light bend around them so they appear to be invisible, though they are still tangible. They are linked to their wearer's nervous system and grant tremendous powers of energy manipulation and emit an energy known as Quantum energy. Their origin is as yet unknown.

Mental/Physical Bond - The Quantum Bands bond with their bearer upon contact interfacing with the bearer's mind allowing for mental control. Permanently affixing themselves generally to the bearer's wrists, the flesh and bone within rendered indestructible so long as the bond with the bands persists. The bond can only be broken upon the bearer's death, at which point the bands could be removed easily.

Programmable - By thinking and working with the Bands, Quasar can program specific instructions into them. This allows for analyzing and processing information as if they were extremely advanced computers. His programmed automatic defenses will only trigger on energies he can control. For example, he would have to put up a shield to stop a bullet, although a laser would be automatically defended against as matter can not be directly manipulated.

VARIOUS MINOR TECH - including an iPad, an iPod, an Android phone, a few laptops, a couple PCs and a number of small gadgets like calculators, laser-light pens and more. He is a hobbyist tech collector.

SHIELD LABS - Wendell is allowed to practice with and in highly advanced tech and training test lab environments. When it's believed your equipment could explode and/or do almost anything, you make room. Wendell has made it clear he doesn't want to hurt anyone when trying to learn more of the bands through training.

STARK INDUSTRIES - Wendell has indirect access to Stark tech through his father and the man himself.

Quasar relies on friends with cars, the bus, the MTA or his flight. So, usually flight.
